Manufacturing semiconductors in space, where microgravity lets atoms align perfectly and the vacuum keeps contaminants out, results in materials up to 4,000× purer than anything we can make on Earth. The chips are destined for anywhere better semiconductors mean better performance (like 5G towers, EV chargers, and aircraft). Next steps: a larger factory capable of producing material for 10,000 chips, plus testing re-entry technology. A heat shield called Pridwen (after King Arthur's legendary shield) will protect future spacecraft as they bring materials back through the atmosphere.
